Our Story
We started with a simple idea: everyone deserves access to great wine without the markup or the attitude.
Riley Johnson spent years working in restaurants across the Southeast, watching customers pay $15 a glass for wines that cost $8 a bottle wholesale. After moving to Savannah in 2019, Riley and family decided to do something about it.
Johnson Family Wines opened on Magnolia Street in 2021 with a straightforward promise: curate genuinely good wines, price them honestly, and make the whole experience feel like visiting a friend’s house—not a stuffy tasting room.
We taste hundreds of wines every year so you don’t have to guess. If it makes it to our shelves, it’s because we’d pour it at our own dinner table. No filler, no overpriced bottles with fancy labels, just good wine at fair prices.
What We Believe In
Every bottle is priced fairly. We keep our margins reasonable because we’d rather you come back every week than splurge once a year.
Kids are welcome. Dogs are welcome. You don’t need to know anything about wine to walk through our door and feel at home.
We source from regional winemakers when we can, partner with local food vendors, and sponsor neighborhood events throughout the year.
We’ll never make you feel silly for asking questions. Our job is to help you find wine you love, not to lecture you about tannins.
